Empower Prowess

The Empower Prowess Card temporarily enhances a character’s weapon skill, adding 2 points to it for a total of 4 rounds, including the round it was invoked.

The following limitations apply: The card cannot be used for someone other than the cardholder. The cardholder must select one weapon skill to be empowered. Selecting a siege weapon is permissible but a non-weapon combat skill (such as Horsemanship or Battle) is not. The selected weapon skill must have a current base value of 10 or less. Note that the base value excludes any additions due modifications from combat situations (i.e., height advantage, recovering weapon, etc.) or bonuses attached to the specific weapon wielded (such as it being a Weapon of Quality or a magic weapon). There is a limitation regarding attempts to coordinate the Empower Prowess Card with a Skirmish Card (see below). Note the character must actually have at least some proficiency in the weapon in question prior to the use of this game perk. The card must be activated prior to a combat roll being made for the selected weapon.

A Skirmish Card cannot be invoked in the same round as an Empower Prowess Card, nor can a Skirmish Card be used during the rounds that the effect of the Empower Prowess Card is in play. This limitation is still observed even if the character switches to a weapon not enhanced by the Empower Prowess Card
